About me

My name is Pete Douglass, I am an GBR Age-Group duathlete, currently racing for a small and very friendly club called, Mendip TRC. I started racing duathlons from October 2018, a major shift from what I used to do before, which was pure cycling. This newly established love affair quickly became my main hobby and passion, and it is now my ambition to strive towards becoming an elite duathlete. This may seem like an impossible task, but it is doable. With some hard graft, elbow grease, and a lot of time training, it’s an achievable goal.

I started this blog to tell about what my current thoughts are on training, small hints and tips, and things that I’ve discovered about myself while training and racing. My posts will not be a generic “this is what I did today for training, and it was really hard”, that stuff is saved for my Instagram. This is about exploring ways in which I can question myself to become a better athlete, look into and discuss articles I have read about training, and major steps that I have taken to get towards my end goal.

If you’re looking to become a multi-sport athlete (or already are one), and is looking for some light reading and insight into the life of a young amateur athlete, this is where I would recommend you begin….I will also talk about my love for coffee!
